Sildenafil Citrate is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor which is used by men as a treatment for problems such as impotence or erectile dysfunction (ED). This medicine works by increasing the flow of blood into the penis during arousal to help maintain and hold an erection. Always keep out of reach of children. This medicine is designed for men who experience sexual health issues and should not be shared or given to those who do not require it.


Precautions

If you are also using a nitroglycerin based medicine, any "nitric oxide donor" medicine, including recreational drugs commonly referred to as "poppers" which contain amyl or butyl nitrate, do not take Sildenafil Citrate because you may experience serious reactions. If you are unsure whether a medication is a nitrate, contact your doctor or pharmacist to ask for help identifying the active ingredient. Sildenafil may also interact badly with the following

•       high blood pressure medicines
•       drugs for the treatment of HIV infection or AIDS such as ritonavir and saquinavir
•       drugs used to treat fungal infections such as fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole or voriconazole
•       cimetidine
•       erythromycin
•       rifampi
•       alpha blocking medicines such as doxazosin, prazosin, terazosin

Before initiating usage of a Sildenafil containing product, you are strongly advised to consult your local Doctor and inform him or her of your intentions, while also listing full details of your medical history. Specifically, make sure your Doctor is aware of any other medical conditions including existing penile conditions or problems, sickle cell anemia, cancers or family history of such, retina diseases like retinitis pigmentosa, kidney or liver problems, bleeding disorders, stomach ulcers, the family and personal history of heart problems or heart failure, coronary artery disease, angina, strokes, abnormally high or low blood pressure, or any allergies.


Usage

This medicine is taken orally as needed, between one-half hour up to four hours before sexual activity (1 hour in advance of sexual activity is considered most effective), or as directed by your local Doctor. It is not advised to take Sildenafil medicines more often than once daily. Onset may be delayed by fatty foods or a large meal.


Dosage is based on medical condition, your response to sexual therapy and dependent on other medicines you may be taking. Please refer to your Doctor for initial dosage recommendations.


This medicine needs to be stored at room temperature 77F (25C) in a dark, tightly sealed container, away from heat and moisture. After using, remember to secure the lid of your medicine and return to its storage place. Failure to do so may result in diminished product quality over time. While taking this medicine, what are the signs of negative side effects?

If you experience any problems with your vision while taking this medicine, call your doctor or a health care professional as quickly as possible.

Medical Notes : Sildenafil Citrate

If you are using Sildenafil Citrate (which could be any of the Filagra range including Filagra 100mg, Filagra 50mg, Filagra 25mg, Filagra Professional, Filagra Oral Jelly or Filagra Pink for Women), it is imperative that you consult your doctor, especially if using any other medication e.g : nitrate drugs for chest pain, heart medication or any other professionally prescribed products. Please note that such nitrates can also be found in recreational drugs (such as 'poppers' or amyl nitrate). If these nitrates are mixed with Sildenafil Citrate, a serious decrease in blood pressure can commonly occur, which may lead to fainting, strokes or even heart failure. If you feel nausea or dizziness after using any medicines containing Sildenafil Citrate, please contact your Doctor or right away.


When using any Sildenafil Citrate containing products, always try to allow 24 hours between doses to minimize possible side effects or pressure on the body and the heart. If your erection does not decrease after 4/5 hours, make contact with your doctor or physician immediately as this could cause long term damage to the penis. It has been observed in certain circumstances that some men may suffer from temporary loss of vision. If this happens, drink water immediately and make contact with your Doctor or Physician straight away.


Please note that there are different strengths available depending on the severity of the condition. For example, if a 30 year old man has a slight problem maintaining an erection, Filagra 25mg will be be sufficient. In the case of a 50 year old man with more severe problems attaining sexual pleasure, a stronger version of the medicine would be recommended, for example Filagra 50mg.
